ESP Music Agenda: New Dillon & Mystik Journeymen EPs

Usually I would wait until the end of the month or even listened to the albums before I try to put them up. These two releases are the exception because Dillon has proving his musically prowess on his album, “Studies In Hunger” and the Mystik Journeymen (of Living Legends) need no introduction with years of quality of hip-hop. Another reason for the urgency is that the Dillion – Cupid’s Revenge: The Ain’t Shit Suite is free for this week only. Mystik Journeymen (Sunspot Jonz and Luckyiam) – Return 2 The ...

Auto Reverse Future Ape Tapes

If you remember auto reverse then you had a cassette collection of hip-hop that you lost once you went digital. Fast forward and now we have another F.A.T. update from our favorite internet neighbor, Future Ape Tapes to add to our digital collection. While us mortal humans toil away at our daily lives, Future Ape Tapes have begun to build “Temples”. Their “Temples” consists of musical sound waves that will crash against your ear lobes. If you have not gotten it yet “Temples” is the brand new album from F.A.T.
RETNA Focuses On Graffiti

A post on Art by Ecliptic Sight reminded me of a post that I should have written years ago. RETNA is a graffiti artist that has ventured into the formal art world with art galleries and other events. His style is definitely refreshing and easily recognizable. His work and info can be found at his website at digitalretna.com.

It is here a new year and time to take the music out of the crates…uh I mean hard drive and see what I played in 2009. I didn’t want to make the typical top 5, 100 or whatever number you want to throw in there. This is the music in 2009 that I consumed and enjoyed without having to put one album over another.
Wanted to have a separate place from Ecliptic Sight to display artwork, designs and photos. Art by Ecliptic Sight was the outcome with the focus on the art instead of the words. I will start posting photos that I have taken as well as from my family & friends. Designs that I have made for albums, logos and other random stuff. Basically it is a place to see all the art I have in higher resolution (800px or smaller) so sit back and watch as the pictures and descriptions inspire.

So this Christmas Dumbfoundead and I have decided that you all should enjoy this CD in your iPod or CD player for FREE, on us. ~8 Bit Bandit
Super Barrio Bros. consist of emcee Dumbfoundead and producer 8 Bit Bandit which put out the 8 bit music (think Super Mario Bros. background music but more involved or evolved) slammed together with Hip-Hop. I remember on a radio interview awhile ago the radio host asked Wordsworth (of Punch & Words and EMC), that if he had a million dollars what would he do.
Ecliptic Sight Review: Willie Green – …Of Heroes And Villains

Office Rap Battle Of The Century

I know the title of this post is dramatic but this video is crazy. College Humor enlist the talents of Freestyle Love Supreme as their interns to do a freestyle battle in the office. Just watch then it will make sense.

New Rakim Available For Purchase

Now is the time to go buy the Rakim single, “Holy Are You”, from Amazon, Itunes, Emusic or other reputable digital outlets. The reason why I am promoting this song so much is because:

	It’s Rakim.
	It’s on his own label.
The more downloads the more of a demand for his album to drop.

I just bought the song from Amazon and it was more than worth the 99 cents.

Logan Walters’ Wu-Note Project

I found Logan Walters’ Wu-Note Project by accident, searching for images to update my MP3 collection. After seeing the cover for GZA’s Beneath The Surface, I had to find out who was the designer. This lead me to his website13156 page where he had this to say about the project:
“no offense to the original designers, but as iconic as they might be they’re looking pretty dated these days. So, armed with inspiration…book of Blue Note Records covers, I set out to remake all 21.”
So far on his Flickr account, he ...

H.A.Y. New Rakim

So I was watching Soul Assassins TV (more on that later…) and DJ Solo drops a Rakim joint that I never heard before. So I go internet digging and find out that is called, “Holy Are You” off his upcoming album entitled, “The Seventh Seal”. If I was up on my YouTube viewing, I would have caught this song a year ago of him performing it at the Knitting Factory. Billboard.com recently put up an interview with Rakim explaining the new album name and letting us know ...

New Label & Album From Evidence

Evidence from Dilated Peoples has been making his mark with his solo albums (The Weatherman LP & The Layover EP). EV continues that tradition by now signing to Rhymersayers Entertainment. In his own words, “This is the most natural move I could have made to further the evolution of my career, while maintaining my identity and passion for the music. Rhymesayers has a proven track record of being focused and dedicated to their artists and I’m excited to be a part of that.” The new album, Cats & Dogs from ...
