Super Mario Bros. 3 Firefox Theme Version 2.6
It is no secret that Super Mario Bros. 3 is my favorite game of all time and that Firefox is my browser of choice. So how do I bring that love for the game and the browser together. Well the answer came with a Firefox theme by freewally called the Super Mario Bros. 3 Firefox Theme Version 2.6. It is a visual mashup of Super Mario Bros. 3 and Firefox that is pure eye candy.
Install instructions for the Super Mario Bros. 3 Firefox Theme Version 2.6:
Download the theme to your desktop from freewally.
Open up Firefox.
Go to Tools/Add-ons/Themes.
Drag the Super_Mario_Bros_3_2_6___Back_by_freewally.jar file on to the Themes window.
Software Installation window will pop up.
Click Install Now.
Super Mario Bros 3 2.6 will show up in the Themes window.
Click Use Theme.
Restart Firefox.
If you want check View/Toolbars/Customize/Use Small Icons to use the pipes toolbar instead of the standard Mario and Luigi toolbar.

Vigil: Blood Bitterness Demo
Loaded up Steam the other day and was presented with the Vigil: Blood Bitterness demo. It catch my eye because of the black and white characters and environments. So I took the plunge and downloaded the demo through Steam. The intro movie definitely puts you into a dark and gloomy world where it will be up to the main character to sort everything out. The sinister sounding voices just add to this shadowy game. The game play is accessible because Vigil is controlled by the mouse with the left click moving the character and the right click is used to open passages and pray. You read that right you get to pray in this game in certain areas with the character dropping to his knees and chanting some ominous words to unlock secrets. Overall the Vigil: Blood Bitterness demo was impressive with its own style and intriguing story that will pull you in.

Nielsen Video Game Ratings
More evidence that video games are taking over has now been confirmed by the Nielsen Media Research company. Nielsen will begin to rate video games just as they do televisions and their advertisements. Nielsen’s GamePlay Metrics will essentially will offer video game advertisers and developers a more precise way to track how the advertisements in-game are being used. This will help developers gain a larger audience with more advertisers help picking up some of the cost. The GamePlay Metrics service will be available Mid-2007, just in time for the “Big 3” (Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii) to cash in on the new video game tracking system.

Xbox Live No More…
For today only Xbox Live and Xbox.com will be down for “adding cool stuff”. I don’t know what that means but we will all find out tomorrow, October 18th at 12:00am. You won’t be able to do anything with Live such as seeing your friends or downloading games but your offline game achievements will be saved and uploaded to Xbox Live tomorrow. So everyone has a guess as to what will be new and so I want to throw my guess into the mix. I think after the update all Xbox 360s will transform and defend the Earth from the Decepticons. More than meets the eye!

Wii Are For Everyone
Wii advance on our journey only when Wii face our goal, when Wii are confident and believe Wii are going to win out.
-Orison Swett MardenAlright maybe the Wii is spelled different in that quote but doesn’t Nintendo seem to embody this statement. With the impending release date of the Nintendo Wii on November 19, 2006 it is shaping up to be the “System for Everyone”. I saw this first-hand at the past E3 convention when lines stretch around the center’s floor taking alot of thunder away from other publishers. I even wrote an article (The Wii Broke My Glee) about waiting in the line and how the console won me over. With the price also being released at the New York event on September 14, 2006 of a retail price of $249.00, has also made the Wii more attract to the gaming public and potential new gamers. On a personal level I was excited to see that Wii Sports would be included in the system price and gave me sense of nostalgia of older systems’ releases. Speaking of yesteryear how could I not bring up the Virtual Console that will allow you to play a select catalog from the N64, Super Nintendo, NES and even the Sega Genesis and Turbo Grafx16 right on your Nintendo Wii. Don’t feel your Gamecube games will collect dust either because the Wii will play all 530 titles from launch date on the front self-loading media bay. That is all fine but what about the Wii games what will be available? Well Nintendo has confirmed that they will have 30 games from launch day of November 19th to December 31st. Some titles announced from Nintendo and publishers are: Wii Sports, a compilation of tennis, baseball, golf, bowling and boxing (included with the Wii console); The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess; Excite Truck; Necro Nesia; Bombermanland; Metroid Prime 3: Corruption; WarioWare: Smooth Moves; Activision’s Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam; Super Smash Bros. Brawl and for a more extensive list check out the Wii Game List. So are you ready for the Wii because I know I am.
