  • ESP Music Agenda: The Dirty Politicians

So it is another year with another new site design and another ESP Music Agenda. This one makes me proud because it comes from my brother Cardiac and his group, The Dirty Politicians. They are making moves in Bakersfield (Killer Kern), California and have opened up for some big names such as 2 Live Crew, Onyx, Sean Price, Rakaa , Afro Man, Tech N9ne, Sand People, Luckyiam, Sic Jacken, Keith Murray, and more. I have even put one of their songs, “Rockey Red Eyes on the Ecliptic Sight Podcast: Future Edition and one of their live show videos. So I have been waiting for this and now I can put the world on The Dirty Politicians album, “Dirty Architecture” on Bandcamp. If you have been missing that west coast music like I have then you will be happy to add this to your catalogue. With songs like, “Flip the Page” that talk about their trials and tribulations to, “West Up” you will been nodding your head until it falls off. With Merge on the beats, he is crafting music that is intoxicating that will make you appreciate real hip-hop again. I can not speak highly enough about The Dirty Politicians and their music. Cardiac and Merge have dropped the visuals for their song, “Cold Box” off the album, “Loose Leaf & Lead” on Youtube that is directed by Evil Duer of the group and it shows that their creativity doesn’t just stop at the music. So sit back and prepare yourself for The Dirty Politicians movement.

  • I Got 5 On AmazonMP3

Okay stop whatever you are doing and go to AmazonMP3 store because they are having a sale on albums for $5 dollars a piece. It is very random what is on sale and it is just best to look if the album you want is on sale. I have a MP3 Wishlist that I add albums to so that way I can go back and buy them later when I have the funds. An added bonus to doing it this way is that Amazon will let you know when the price drops below the price you added the album (it will look like this: Price dropped 44% (was $8.99 when added) $4.99) and this is how I discovered the sale. This is what I have picked up so far:

9th Wonder – The Wonder Years
    Action Bronson – Dr. Lecter
Action Bronson & Statik Selektah – Well Done
Blu & Exile – Below the Heavens
De La Soul – The Grind Date
DMX – It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot
    Dumbfoundead – DFD
    Gravediggaz – 6 Feet Deep
    Greneberg – Greneberg
Jedi Mind Tricks – Violence Begets Violence
Killah Priest – The 3 Day Theory
    Kno – Death Is Silent
    M.O.P. – Sparta
Malcolm and Martin – Life Doesn’t Frighten Me
Matisyahu – Shake Off the Dust…Arise
MED – Bang Ya Head 3, Special Edition
Meyhem Lauren – Self Induced Illness
    Mobb Deep – Black Cocaine
    Regina Spektor – 11:11
Royce Da 5’9″ – Death Is Certain
Saigon – The Greatest Story Never Told
Ski Beatz – 24 Hour Karate School, Part 2
The Black Opera – Enter Mission
    The Dino 5 – The Dino 5
The Undergods – In Gods We Trust
Vast Aire – Ox 2010: A Street Odyssey

I say so far because half the albums were full price yesterday and I checked today and the other half I bought today dropped to $5 dollars. So go get your musical fix but know, “The Black Opera – Enter Mission” is $8.99 but I had to get that one now because they are doing something different that needs to be heard.

  • Video Of The Moment! Part Fifth

Thanks King Fantastic you have given me another reason to miss the west coast with the video of “Class of ’97 (1979)“. It is just a summer time jam that is perfect to warm you up for the cold winter times we are going into. Troublemaker has injected a soulful beat that will keep your head nodding with Killer Reese One delivering the infectious flow. If you have not done so yet go and get the King Fantastic – Death of Summer EP at KingFantastic.com and if this is your first taste of King Fantastic pick up their debut album, “Finger Snaps and Gun Claps” also and here some Westcoastsynthesizerbeachbumgangstermusic. Okay back to the video so I can reminisce over the beaches of California.

  • Arkham Gears Battle Of Duty

Wonder why posting has slowed to a crawl here on Ecliptic Sight. Blame it on the games, Batman: Arkham Asylum (playing the the first one because I already bought Arkham City), Gears of War 3, Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. I will try to keep up but with the holidays in full swing and great games coming down the pipeline it will be hard to juggle everything. To bad they can not mash up video games so we did not have to buy so many…

  • Slaughterhouse!!!!

I have been telling people that Slaughterhouse is about to blow up and I have had a couple of examples to give them. They are four separate artists  Crooked I, Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz and Royce da 5’9″ that have been doing their thing on the solo tip then they performed a song on Joe Budden’s  “Halfway House” which they knew they had a chemistry to form the group. They released their first album, “Slaughterhouse” in 2009 on E1. In 2011 they released an EP called, Slaughterhouse EP, to hold over the fans until they could finish up their Shady Records debut album. They say they are about 75% finish with that album which I know will finally put them on the map. So to display their lyrically ingenuity Eminem, Yelawolf and Slaughterhouse decided to go to the B.E.T. Awards 2011 Hip Hop Cypher and murdered the whole thing. Watch the video below and you will be yelling Slaughterhouse!!!! like Rihanna (you will know what I mean when you watch it).

This is the unedited explicit version of the Shady Records 2.0 Boys 2011 Cypher. Yelawolf, Slaughterhouse and Eminem over “Tried By 12” provided by DJ Premier. Filmed on location in Detroit, MI, USA.

  • For All He Does, For All Of Us…To Michael!

Sometimes in our lives we need a reminder. Something that puts everything in perspective. Why we work our fingers to the bone. Try to obtain every trophy. Fight the good fight.

Now back to your regular Ecliptic Sight program: I made that sound like something epic was happening but it is the just the new marketing (genius?) campaign from Sony called “Long Live Play. The video above just makes me think that we are changing lives when we play games it was perfectly executed allowing us the viewers to be drawn into their make-believe world. They also make us keep watching the video so we can try to spot and identify all the characters in the video. That is all i got I have to get back to my gaming.

  • Kickstarter, Premrock & Willie Green Pledge A Tour

Do you remember producer Willie Green? Well he has teamed with emcee Premrock to release the self-titled album, Premrock & Willie Green on September 28, 2011on Isolated Wax Records. In an effort to promote their record they are going on tour in the U.S. in September and then International in October. You can help them fund their tour while getting dope music in return on their Kickstarter page. You can give as little as $1 dollar or more to receive bonuses. The one I chose was the $20 pledge which included:

Digital copy of new album: “PremRock & Willie Green,” signed hard copy of PremRock’s “the build” and digital copy of Willie Green’s “Dirty Jordans.” Email updates from the tour.

So basically I get three albums from their respective catalogs and help them put on a show for fans around the world that sounds like a win for everyone. So if you want to support them hit up their Kickstarter page for more options. Also to let you hear what is on the new album they have released this single with C-Rayz Walz, Soul Khan and DJ Addikt called, “Had to Be Me“.

  • ESP Music Agenda: Braille – Native Lungs

Braille has linked up with Humble Beast to drop his latest album, “Native Lungs”. Braille has always given you meaningful music to inspire but takes it one step farther with joining with some of the best producers to compliment his sound. • Copperthistle Starts Anti Biters Coalition

Let me start off by saying all the art below does not belong to myself or Ecliptic Sight. All rights and artwork is by digital artist known as Copperthistle on Deviant Art. I put that disclosure at the top because it seems he has a problem with biters (people that steal his work without giving credit to him). So he transformed it into art by starting the Anti Biters Coalition.

The concept works well with his hip-hop inspired work which also has a lot of biters in the industry. Here Copperthistle transforms MF DOOM into a zombie with the dark colors flowing into the haunting image of him devouring human remains.

  • ESP Music Agenda: August Vinyl Purchase

Trying to expand my vinyl catalog and was surprised by a nice little gem some record companies are doing to keep buyers purchasing physical copies. They are adding digital download cards to the vinyl so you have it on the computer as well on your turntables. I definitely support this movement because it is easier than trying to rip your vinyl and separate the songs through an audio program. Here are the new joints that will be bumping through the Ecliptic Sight headquarters for this month:

    Gangrene – Gutter
    Pete Rock & Smif-N-Wessun – Monumental
    Random Axe – Random Axe
Madlib – Medicine Show No. 9: Channel 85 Presents Nittyville
Gangrene – Sawblade EP (Shaped like a sawblade and new music not on the Gangrene – Gutter album)

  • Little Work Makes Big Design

I first witnessed Juart Little’s impressive work at DeviantArt and was taken back by his use colors and expressions. He definitely chooses some of my favorite artists to give his interpretation through his designs. Little has drawn Aesop Rock, Cypress Hill, Planet Asia, Afu-Ra, Pharaohe Monch, RZA, Tash, Immortal Technique and many others giving the underground hip-hop some shine. Juart’s art does not stop at hip-hop and his work goes from tattoo designs to fonts and much more. His website at digitalbluecollarworker.com displays his work in a simple but elegant way to let his designs become the focal point.

Hard to pick one but this is my favorite from his work:
