Well this might shock some of you but I did manage to get to E3 aka Gamer’s Paradise. The wonderful group that got me into E3 this year is Kaieos. Kaieos is spearheaded by Keith Vu. Keith doesn’t only do that but he also runs eZZyprints.com. How he does it is anyone’s guess. I just have to say thanks to Keith and Kaieos because I am at E3 typing this to you at the L.A. Convention Center.
Cypress Hill Game is a fun little flash game with simple controls. The game is nice distraction if you are looking for something to do on the net. Maybe I should throw a NSFW (Not Safe For Work) on the title because the intro and game does have illegal substances floating around. It should be obvious if you know Cypress Hill and their music then you their stance on the subject.
Gallery Nineteen Eighty Eight will be host of the second annual I AM 8-BIT nicely dubbed, verison 2.006. I AM 8-BIT: version 2.006 is an art show that lets over hundred artists give their interpretation of 1980’s video games through different media. It varies from canvas to t-shirts to cloth and last year there was even a Pac-Man grenade. Now if you can imagine that then you will enjoy this pixel parade of people’s perception. The show begins April 18th and will run until May 19th, 2006. Looks like Steam and Counter-Strike: Source are at it again with another round of updates. First up are two more player models one for the terrorist: Artic and one for the counter terrorist: GSG9. If your player models are not showing the new models open your config and add cl_minmodels 0 to show all the models. Next on the update list in HDR lighting on the de_dust map. The update that was greatly appreciated by me was the “improved lag compensation”. This made my game run smoother without using hacks or workarounds for my hyperthreading computer. If it happened to you then you know how big of an improvement this is. Here is a shot from de_dust HDR lighting with the new Artic Avenger model.
My title sounds like a song, “Golden Axe Gone Away…” You can finish the rest if you must but before I get off track. I recently put my Golden Axe arcade cabinet on Craigslist.org for sale. I was going to restore it myself but time (mostly more games) caught up to me. Anyways, two guys came by to pick it up and through conversation I found out they work for Rhythm and Hues (that is working on the next Superman: Rhythm and Hues). So they told me they were going to restore it for their company and turn it into a MAME machine. I thought it was a good idea and asked if they would keep me posted. Well they did and also made a sight for it called RhythmMAME. I think this post gives an insight into how much work will be involved and tons of photos. Have fun.

You can now preload SiN Episodes: Emergence through your Steam client. If that makes no sense to you then refer back to my previous post on SiN Episodes. Also if you go to SiNEpisodes.com you can download the Emergence trailer and music from the game. The lead game developer has also started a blog on the sight to keep us up to date with the progress of the games. The game is slated to be released on May 9th, so call 911 because you need to get to the Emergence. (Yeah, I went there.)
