  • Comic Book Frame Wall

    So I have a baby on the way and was setting up the room and I was trying to figure what I was going to do with the walls. My wife came up with the idea to put up comic books on the wall because I like superheroes. So the first thing I did was do a Google search for, “comic book frames” and the first item that came up was, “Ikea Comic Book Photo Frame Hack | Youseph Tanha“. It detailed how Youseph used $1.99 frames from Ikea to add his comic books to his wall and it made a great look. I kept reading and he would put up updates on his readers using his idea. There was one update from Brilliantly Easy blog that said that Dollar Tree has $1 frames that they used to accomplish the same concept. This was perfect because I have a Dollar Tree and I went and found these, “Black Plastic Photo & Document Frames, 8.5×11” and bought 20 of them for my project. All in all I am satisfied how my comic book frame wall came out and thank the wifey, websites and authors for the inspiration.

  • Sean Price Stole Christmas

    Happy Holidays from Ecliptic Sight. What makes a holiday even better? We all know it is good music. Well if you have not seen, “How Sean P! Stole Christmas” yet then you are missing out (and if you haven’t picked up his album, “Mic Tyson” then you are pass missing out and need to catch up) because Sean Price has put his spin on a holiday classic. Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas animated cartoon is the topic of choice for Sean Price and Kimson Albert, Animator & Director of the video. Sean Price goes in for the one two punch on the vocals with some of the funniest and grimmest things to say on a Christmas record. Khrysis makes the Grinch his own with a smoothed out sound that makes you nod your head. Kimson Albert provides the slick visuals to add the icing on the cake bringing the whole project together.   • ESP Agenda: Sean Price – Mic Tyson

    How do you follow up Kimbo Price which felt like a knockout? With a finishing blow as expected called, “Mic Tyson” to be released October 30, 2012. Sean Price the “Brokest Rapper You Know” needs no introduction but I will educate you anyways. After being attacked by “Monkey Barz” on his first solo album, now it is time for him to lay them all out on his newest joint (see album covers below if it doesn’t make sense). With his latest animated video for the track, “STFU, Pt. 2”, it becomes very obvious what he wants people to do that doubt him. Sean Price still has the crazy wordplay with rhymes that make you rewind to make you think did he just say that. Sean Price’s Mic Tyson is shaping up to be an album of the year contender and really did anyone doubt this.

  • 20 Years of Beat Junkie Sound

    The World Famous Beat Junkies was founded in 1992 so 2012 would mark the groups 20 year anniversary. I can still remember seeing a Beat Junkie battle on VHS or picking up the The World Famous Beat Junkies Volume 1 mixed by DJ Babu on cassette and many others. I have seen them do all the individual and collaborative projects but they always keep the Beat Junkie sound. The documentary, “The Beat Junkies – For The Record” takes us on a road down memory lane. It talks about how the group formed and how the individual members got into the group. Some of the best moments come from watching how the members still have so much support for each other and how they look up to each other. If you love turntablism and want to know more about one of the best groups still doing it, then you owe it to yourself to watch this.

  • Arrival Of The Merch Girl

    So my package has arrived of Yumiko: Curse of the Merch Girl by Murs and Josh Blaylock. If you need it a refresher of what this is then check out the successfully funded Kickstarter page for more information. I ordered the package with the T-shirt and picked the art of Jim Mahfood with his envisioning  of Yumiko. Included in the delivery was a download card with the album and comic digitally, a hard cover of the graphic novel and the Murs & Foundation CD. I was waiting to get the physical comic to read it but it looks great with the artwork of Jose Garcia with a quick flip through.   • El-P Hammers Out Slaughterhouse

    How do you make a track stronger getting a capable producer to remix your song. Slaughterhouse has enlisted the help of El-P to remix their song, “Hammer Dance” and it has transformed into a monster of a jam. El-P brings his signature sound engulfing the four man powerhouse to new heights. Check out the Slaughterhouse – Hammer Dance (El-P Remix) below.

  • The RZA With The Iron Fists

    The RZA has been doing his thing in the music industry for awhile and has championed his craft in that arena. Now he is tackling the movie industry with the same decimating talents and taking the directing hat and lead actor role in his new movie called, “The Man with the Iron Fists”. He is using the all familiar elements from classic and current kung-fu flicks that we grew up with and adding his own twist to his take on the culture. The premise of the movie is laid out by Wikipedia:

    In nineteenth century China, a blacksmith who makes elaborate weapons for a small village, is forced to unite with warriors and assassins to protect the village and defeat a traitor who threatens to destroy them all.

    He has also assembled an all star cast with Russell Crowe, Cung Le, Lucy Liu, Byron Mann, Rick Yune, David Bautista, Jamie Chung, Pam Grier & Jin Au-Yeung. Quentin Tarantino has given his stamp of approval with the “Quentin Tarantin presents…” title and it is written by RZA and Eli Roth. There is no release date yet but I will be in line at the premiere to see this one. Watch the red band trailer below and yes that is RZA punching someone’s eyeball out.

  • Amazon Called Quest The $2.99 Theory

    Amazon MP3 Store knows how to make me spend my hard earn money on music by having crazy low prices. I have been on a mission to replace all the music I use to have on cassette tape or lost/stolen compact discs. Amazon is helping out because right now they are having a limited time sale on mp3s for $2.99. My favorite on the list that I didn’t have was, “A Tribe Called Quest – The Low End Theory“. It has arguably one of the most recognizable Tribe song that everyone knows called, “Scenario” but I just could not wait to hear the whole album again. If you don’t have this in your collection or like me need to get put it back in your collection then this is the perfect time to pick it up.

  • Machines That Make Civilization Fun

    The title of Bigg Jus new album, “Machines That Make Civilization Fun” puts a smile on my face because it can be interrupted in so many ways. Well you do not have to wonder what the title means anymore with Culture King sitting down with the King Spitter to explain the album title as well as other things on his mind. He touches on everything from his graffiti, Company Flow, to the way he makes music and more. If you read ESP Music Agenda: Bigg Jus then you know I was looking forward to his release. I picked it up at Mush Records digital store and let me tell you Bigg Jus does not disappoint as always.

  • El-P=C4C

    If the post title did not grab your attention then this surely will because El-P will be dropping a new album. The album is called Cancer for Cure or C4C for short and will include his much sought after single, “Drones Over Bklyn” first established by the Adult Swim Singles Program website.  The album will drop on May 22, 2012 but if you did like I did and purchased the G-Money Deluxe (that includes both El-P – Cancer for Cure Vinyl Super Deluxe and the El-P produced Killer Mike – R.A.P. Music Vinyl Deluxe Package) then you could be listening to the album right now. The original date for the vinyl was going to be released on May 29th but due to unforeseen delays the package will not be available until June 4th. To compensate the fans for the delay, they have given us the Cancer for Cure digital album early and will allow others to order a vinyl package to download the release today also.
